What's Happening at Mayfair-Plymouth

Week of March 7 - 13

Pancake Breakfast Today
The youth group is sponsoring a pancake breakfast today from 10 to 1 in Friendship Hall.  Come downstairs and enjoy a great breakfast for a donation of your choice!

Blood Pressure Checks Today
Free blood pressure screening is available in the church office this morning after both of the services.

Lenten Series Continues Tonight
This evening at
6 p.m. Pastor Rupert will continue the five-part series of studies/discussions on the meaning of Easter.  There will be a short video, some teaching, much discussion, and light snacks.  Please join us!

Church Keys
Attention, all members in possession of church keys!  The recent audit of the outside door keys was not successful.  Trustees are now recalling those keys.  Therefore, all key holders except staff members are asked to return front door keys (with blue tops) to trustees immediately - OR you can place them in an envelope with your name and return them to Susan directly (again, please DON'T leave them on her desk!).  Once a key has been returned, a new request form can be completed and placed in the trustees' mailbox.  All requests will be reevaluated at the March 18 trustees' meeting (note: the date has changed) and keys will be distributed the following weekend.  Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter - and our sincere apologies for the inconvenience to those of you who did respond.  If you have questions or comments, call Diane Ballmer at 419-276-0443.

Esther Has Been Found
Thanks to some keen eyes, the missing Esther DVD study has been found at the church.  However, disc number 5 is still missing.  If you have borrowed this disc in the past, please look around to see if you returned it.  The disc should be returned to the OFFICE, not the library.  Thank you!

Don't Forget . . .
. . . the time change next weekend!  Move the clocks ahead one hour.

Lenten Folder Funds/Wednesday Night Kids Silent Auction
There's still time to pick up a Lenten folder!  Our Mission Board has chosen to donate the funds from the Lenten folders to Campus Crusade.  Recently Campus Crusade received a gift of 260,000 pairs of shoes.  Our offering will be used to help ship and distribute the shoes to people around the world.  The cost of shipping is $3 per pair.  Recipients will be taught about Jesus during the distribution.  In connection with this project, the Wednesday night kids will be decorating canvas shoes and flip-flops to sell at a silent auction next Sunday, March 14, after the second service.  Plan to join us for the silent auction while enjoying lunch, music, and a good time of fellowship!

Fish Fry This Friday
Don't miss our next fish fry!  It'll be held this Friday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. It's all-you-can-eat ocean perch, French fries, coleslaw, applesauce, mac and cheese, beverage, and dessert; the cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.  The children's menu includes chicken nuggets.

Special Guests Next Sunday
On March 14 we'll welcome People of Worship, a group from Ohio Northern University that Kayla Ballmer is part of.  They'll be leading worship at the 10:45 service.  We'll be taking a love offering for them and they'll be our guests at the luncheon following the service.

Who Is This Man? Drama
Mark your calendars and plan to attend Who Is This Man?, an original Easter musical production we're having on Palm Sunday, March 28.  There will be two performances: at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the program.  Tickets are available for a donation of your choice.

Retreat Info
Information for the participants in next weekend's retreat is available at the Information Center.  Contact Anna Woodward at 419-475-4682 if you have any other questions.

Attention, Ladies!
Lisa Harper, well-known Christian author and speaker, will be featured at the annual Changed Life Seminar on March 20.  Lisa is back by popular demand.  The seminar will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Pick up a registration brochure at the Information Center in the narthex or log onto www.ChangedLifeSeminar.com to register.  The cost this year is $25.  Don't miss out; sign up now!  The deadline to register is March 12. NOTE: June Swaney has been ill, so she can't go to the retreat.  She has generously offered to let someone fill her space at no cost.  If you're interested, call the church at 419-476-7093.

Just a Reminder . . .
You can join Don Connors on Wednesday nights for his study of the Minor Prophets.  Don is currently doing a study of the book of Hosea, and you can get prior class notes from him.  The study of the Minor Prophets will continue through the end of May; you can join the group anytime.  Notes are always available if you miss a week.  This group meets in the sanctuary every Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m.

BVA Monthly Love Offering
In an effort to continue to support Bennett Venture Academy and meet their continual needs, we've started a new project: adopting an item of their greatest need each month. For the month of March the item is sanitizing wipes. Please place the donated items in the basket on or under the table near the coat room.  Any donations are appreciated as we reach out to them with the love of Jesus!  If you have any questions, call Donna Bauman.

Jiggs Dinner
Our youth group will  be hosting a Jiggs Dinner in Friendship Hall on Saturday, March 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale starting today at a table by the elevator.  Ticket price is $7 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 10 years old.    There's no charge for children under 5.  You may also buy tickets for a to-go dinner.  If you have questions, see Ben Jewett or Shelly Kirsch.

Save the Date!
Our annual outing to a Mudhens game will be on Friday, May 21.  Look for tickets to go on sale soon!  It's a 7:00 game, and a group from our church will be singing the national anthem!
