Lunch Here, ANNUAL MEETING THIS AFTERNOON AT 1:00
The youth group will serve lunch here after the 10:45 service. We're having sub sandwiches, soup, chips, and beverages, for a donation of your choice. Please join us in Friendship Hall and then go up to the sanctuary for the annual meeting at 1 p.m. today! (Everyone is welcome to attend; however, only members can vote.)
Notice of Proposed Constitutional Changes
We'd like to bring our constitution up to date with our current ministry situation. There are certain boards that need to be combined and streamlined, certain new positions that need to be added, and still other positions that should no longer require election or, in some cases, church membership. Those boards and positions affected include church clerk, treasurer, auditor, board of missions, board of Christian education, historian, memorial fund chairman, hospitality committee chairman, editorial director of the newsletter, and church council. An outline of the proposed changes is available in the church office and at the Information Center.
Courageous Living Bible Study for Men
Men: God is calling you to fight for your faith and for your family! He's also calling you to follow Christ and live a life that's courageous. Join Jim Warren beginning next Sunday, February 5, at 9:30 a.m. as he leads this men's group that will challenge you to live courageously for the sake of your family. Sign up today for this four-week study at the display in the lobby, and please take a book.
Reach Out to Our Shut-Ins!
We have over 30 people in our church who are shut-ins. Join others in reaching out to them! We're meeting on Sunday, February 12, at 12:30 in Friendship Hall for a light lunch and to determine who will visit whom. You'll be able to go out in teams of 2 or 3, or go with a friend. We hope each team can visit 2 or 3 shut-ins. Mark your calendars and be a part of this outreach!
Moving Up the Road Update
A contract was recently signed with Porter and Associates and Willson Builders. Porter and Associates, our architecture firm, is currently working on the drawings of the building. The Construction Team is hopeful that they'll be on the City of Toledo's Planning Commission agenda for the month of March. The Planning Commission will give the final approval for our building site. If all goes as planned, the Construction Team anticipates accepting bids in April. Additional information will be communicated as it becomes available.
Can You Help?
We're having a memorial service here at the church for Ed Buehrer this Saturday, February 4, at 11 a.m. We still need people to sign up to bring food for the luncheon after the service. Signup sheets are at the Information Center. Thank you for your help!
Food Pantry Meeting
Please plan to join us in the library next Sunday, February 5, after the 10:45 service for a brief meeting. We'll discuss ideas, thoughts, and concerns pertaining to the pantry. Please attend if you have helped in the past or if you haven't helped but would like to become involved. Thank you!
Valentine Dinner
The youth group is sponsoring a Valentine Dinner in Friendship Hall onSaturday, February 11, at 7 p.m. The tickets are $10 per person, and reservations are required. Proceeds will go toward the summer mission trip. See Ben Jewett to purchase tickets.
Magazines Wanted
We'd like to have some old magazines (like Good Housekeeping, Family Circle, etc.) for a Wednesday night children's activity. Please bring them to the office by the end of February.
