Our Two Styles of Worship
What's Traditional Worship?
Traditional worship includes the singing of hymns, usually accompanied by organ and piano. Many of the hymns have been around for a number of years, some of them for centuries, although a few are of recent composition. Our traditional worship also includes the music ministry of a choir on most Sundays (but not during the summer). We also repeat the Lord's Prayer as part of the worship and sing the Doxology. When the choir sings they, along with the pastors, are usually in robes.
What's Contemporary Worship?
Contemporary worship utilizes more recently composed contemporary music and is accompanied with keyboard, guitars, drums and a praise team. Usually several songs are sung in what is called "sets" with one song often leading into the next. Prayers and the reading of short Scriptures may also be incorporated between the songs.
