The fact that you're reading this webpage indicates you have an interest in joining the membership of Mayfair-Plymouth Church. We're glad!

Perhaps you've been attending for quite some time or maybe just a short time. It doesn't matter. An important next step can be joining our official membership.

Why Join?
Becoming a member of Mayfair-Plymouth Church indicates a willingness to make a serious commitment to Jesus Christ's church. It becomes your church in a way that has not been true before.

What Are the Commitments and Privileges?
Involvement as a member of Mayfair-Plymouth covers three areas:

  • Time
  • Talent
  • Treasure

Your level of commitment in these three areas is between you and the Lord. We believe that God has gifted you in a unique way to make a positive contribution to the life of Mayfair-Plymouth Church. We want to help you invest your time and talent wisely to make this happen.

As a member you will have the options of serving on a church board and participating in our annual congregational meeting and all specially called congregational meetings. These are the unique privileges of being a member of Mayfair-Plymouth Church.

The commitment of your treasure (financial giving) is a private matter between you and the Lord. In obedience to Christ we encourage sacrificial giving, but do not require a certain level of contribution. All contributions are confidential. Our church does not have a pledge system or an every-member canvass.

What Doctrines Do I Have to Agree to?
As a church we believe that a Christian is a person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior (that Christ died on the cross to pay for our sinfulness and to make us right with God) and as Lord (that He has ultimate leadership in our lives). We also accept the Bible as our final authority. We believe a Christian needs to be living a lifestyle that reflects Christ-likeness.

A frequent issue concerns a couple who are living together but are not married and have expressed an interest in joining the church. We are always anxious to help a couple establish a Christian marriage, and one of our pastors would consider it a privilege to conduct their wedding. Our counsel is that a couple living together get married first and then consider joining the church as members. If you have any questions or want further clarification on this issue, please feel free to contact Pastor Dave. He will be happy to talk with you.

    How Do I Join?
We conduct new members' classes every spring and fall for 12 weeks. These classes are offered at 10:30 on Sunday mornings to make it possible for the participants to still attend the worship service of their choice. We also offer a class on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. The material is user-friendly, and of course there's no test! Simply call the church office (419-476-7093) or mark the Friendship Form ("wish to join") that is passed down the pew each Sunday morning.

    For More Information...
Copies of our church's constitution are available at the Information Center, or by calling the church office. This document explains in detail how our church functions.

You may have some additional questions. Please feel free to contact' Susan in the church office to set up an appointment with Pastor Dave or Pastor Ray.
