Moon's Mercy a creator risks everything for his creation
by David J. Claassen
Possessing minds harvested from critically injured dolphins interfaced with "assisted thought processors," the Dolphdroids go well beyond former barriers encountered in the field of of artificial intelligence. They are conscious, self-aware beings with the free will to make choices.
It is the year 2075. The Dolphdroids' mission for ten years has been to colonize the lunar surface and establish a productive outpost from which rare helium-3 and solar generated energy can be exported to Earth. But something has gone very wrong. The lunar colony of Dolphdroids is no longer fulfilling the "Contract of Life" given them at their activation. The mining and export of helium-3 and the generation of solar energy has stopped. Dr. Imus Hartung, head of the Extraterrestrial Research and Resources Center, has ordered the termination of the entire race of 150 Dolphdroids.
Dr. Joshua Christopher finds himself facing the challenge of his lifetime: devising a plan to save his creation from certain extinction. Code-named Moon's Mercy, Dr. Christopher and his team of supporters embark on a plan that will have the creator risking everything to rescue his creation.
