With the current high unemployment rate of Toledo, Mayfair-Plymouth Church sees firsthand the need to reach out to families in our own neighborhood. The Food Pantry doesn't stop at offering essential groceries and personal hygeine items to families; we also realize that families have other needs throughout the year that need to be met, such as warm coats, hats, and gloves in the winter.
The Food Pantry is open to the community the third Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. until noon. Shoppers can enter the church parking lot beginning at 8 a.m. At that time they will receive a number for a place in line. Each person shopping at the Food Pantry must bring a photo I.D. and proof of Toledo residency in the zip code areas of 43608, 43612, 43613, and 43623; and a birth certificate or Social Security card is required for EACH person living in the household.
One of Toledo's local missions to the homeless in our community, the Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission offers daily meals as well as sleeping quarters for men and women living on the streets. Low-income families also benefit from the Mission by receiving food, clothing, and personal hygiene items as needed. Realizing that there's also a spiritual need to be met, the Mission encourages its recipients to attend daily Christian worship services and offers spiritual counseling to those in need, guiding individuals to become self-supporting and to the knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Our church provides and serves a meal at the Mission the fourth Saturday of every month. Volunteers are needed to serve the meal and/or donate food.
Partnering with Bennett Venture Academy, Mayfair-Plymouth Church understands the challenges teachers have to stock their classrooms with needed school supplies. To alleviate the out-of-pocket expenses that teachers at Bennett Venture have, we regularly donate items such as tissues, hand sanitizer, dry-erase markers, and copy paper.
Join Pastor Rupert every Wednesday morning at 8:30am at Franklin Park Mall for a ministry that involves walking. You can walk in a group or with your friends, or by yourself, at any pace or for any distance you want. Or, if you just want to come and start the day with coffee and a prayer and hold a table for us while we walk, you are welcome! The mall opens at 8:30am and there are some restaurants open for breakfast. After our walk, we'll read a daily devotional, pray, and be on our way by 9:20. Invite some friends and join us!
Mayfair-Plymouth Church also supports several other Christian outreach ministries throughout the Toledo area. A complete list is available from our Mission Board.
If you have any questions about any of these ministries, please feel free to contact Mayfair-Plymouth Church by phone at 419-476-7093 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
